Multi-Species Cropping Day
Event description
Join us for a tour of Sophie And Adrian McInnerney's farm "Bellhaven Brook" and see the home of their paddock to plate enterprise Macintyre Brook Lamb, as well as some multi-species crops and a riparian fencing project.
Wyreema farmer and multi-species cropper Ian Beard will present on multi-species cropping, soil biology, fertilising (including DIY) and machinery, giving us practical applications for modern day farming.
We are excited to have Ian Beard back after his highly popular presentation at our field day last year at Justin and Kate Boshammer's farm "Camilaroi West", Condamine.
Ian Beard has been farming since the 1980s and has experience in grain growing, horticulture, sheep and cattle. He is passionate about using practical methods to improve soil health, yield and profit.
Ian has been experimenting with multi-species cropping for 10 years with impressive results. He enjoys sharing practical knowledge and recipes to other farmers to achieve these outcomes.
Find out if multi-species cropping is worth the effort, and how to make soil biology work for you.
Your ticket includes two one-hour group Zoom meetings with Ian Beard at 7pm on Monday 7 September and Monday 4 December, where Ian will answer your questions about applying multi-species cropping practices on your farm.
This project received funding from the Australia Government's Murray-Darling Healthy Rivers Program and the Queensland Government's Natural Resources Recovery Program.
