Muriwai Horse Trek

Discover the wild west coast on horseback with other home educated Life Learners, where you will trail ride up the velvet black sands of Muriwai beach and through sand dunes.

You’ll stop to let your horse have a drink and splash in the fresh water holes before making your way up through scrubland, tree tunnels and the picturesque Woodhill Forest.

We will be saddling up for a 1 hour walking trek which is great for all levels of experience, do with a group, enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and view all from the back of one of our beautiful steeds.
If you are over 5 years old you can come on the trek!

Each rider is on their own horse. The Muriwai Horse Trek guides will be on foot close by with the riders sand are available to help any younger ones or those that need it.

After your horse trek you can take the rest of the day to enjoy the many wonderful things in the area like Muriwai beach, playground or walks to see birds and caves.

- There is a weight limit of 95kgs for the horses.
- Registrations for this Horse Trek must be finalized 2 weeks prior to the event date.
- There is only 11 spots available on each trek.

Check in: This is a self check in event.
You will need to sign in your groups booking when you arrive at the event.

Group Minimums: There is a minimum amount of tickets that need to purchased on most events (set by the venue). If this event fails to reach the minimum amount of tickets booked before the last day of registration; the event will be cancelled and refunded.
