Description
The Murrumbidgee Regional Health Innovation Showcase is an annual event hosted by the Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct (MHKP), bringing together representatives from health, education, industry, government and community sectors to celebrate and explore innovation across rural and regional health.
Recognising the unique challenges and opportunities faced by regional communities, the Showcase provides a platform to highlight place-based solutions, partnerships and ideas that are improving health and wellbeing outcomes across the Murrumbidgee region. By bringing together diverse partners and perspectives, the Showcase promotes a one-system approach to addressing the complex challenges faced in rural and regional communities. It creates opportunities to share knowledge, identify areas for collaboration and investment, and shape future collective action through the MHKP to enhance health workforce, education and community outcomes across the region.
This year's Showcase will place a strong emphasis on local and regional initiatives, practical examples and opportunities for future collaboration.

Leon will share the innovative approach to workforce and supporting future talent taken by Griffith-based business and global technology manufacturer, Flavourtech, that specialises in aroma recovery, extraction and evaporation solutions for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
Dr Damien Limberger - GP Obstetrician / Director of Medical Services Murrumbidgee LHD
Dr Limberger will share the innovative approaches to rural recruitment at Griffith Base Hospital and show how being rural doesn’t limit career opportunities.
Marg Couch - Senior Project Officer, Regional Development Australia Riverina
Marg will share the attraction and retention programs running in Griffith, such as Country Change and the Welcome Experience, that are successfully strengthening local workforce and supporting thriving communities.
Shiron Kirkman - Centre Manager, Country University Centre Western Riverina
Shiron will share how CUC Western Riverina is driving change in regional education by empowering the Western Riverina community to fulfil their potential through higher education and providing highly connected learning communities in Griffith and Leeton.
Fran Trench - Executive Officer & Training Support Riverina Regional Training Hub, and A/Prof Diarmuid Kelly - Associate Dean, Strategic Partnerships and Enterprise, Charles Sturt University
Fran and Diarmuid are co-chairs of the MHKP's Education and Rural Workforce Working Group and will share the work being undertaken to address challenges and opportunities for the Aged Care sector.
Rebecca Barry, Lecturer in Rural Health (Clinical Educator), Three Rivers Department of Rural Health, Charles Sturt University
Rebecca will share how high-quality student placement experiences can contribute to growing the rural health workforce and strengthening rural communities.
Dr Jonathan Chan - Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
Dr Chan is a Rural Generalist Trainee and will share his innovative platform, FairGo Health, that supports trainees to connect with rural placement opportunities.
