Emerging Artist Concert Series

Violin and Piano Recital

Join us for a morning of chamber music with violinists Violeta Shopova (22) and Eva Bogoevska (27), who perform with New Zealand pianist Gracie Francis. Violeta recently completed her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia, studying with Goetz Richter, while Eva has an established professional violin career in Macedonia. Gracie is a 2026 graduate of the C. V. Starr Doctoral Program at The Juilliard School in New York.

Their program charts a journey across Europe, from the charm of Mozart's Violin Sonata in G Major to the colours of Debussy in his poignant final work, the Sonata for Violin and Piano. Zografski's Song for Solo Violin, a modern work rooted in Macedonian Folk Music, is balanced by the lightness of a Pleyel Sonata for Violin Duo. The program concludes with Shostakovich's Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano, each piece drawn from larger works and arranged for violins and piano.

Familiar in form yet steeped in the times and places that shaped each composer, this music, like the performers themselves, has always travelled, carried across seas, borders, and generations to find new life in performance.

The Emerging Artist Concert Series at Music and Tea is a daytime concert series spotlighting some of Australia's most inspiring young artists. It provides dedicated, passionate musicians under 26 with performance opportunities and mentoring.

REGULAR ATTENDEES, PLEASE NOTE: This concert is on the 2nd Thursday of October, not the usual 1st Thursday of the month. Doors open at 10:40 am.

Sharing the Joy of Music in the Community

InspireMusicAust is a not-for-profit that nurtures emerging classical, jazz, and world musicians by creating performance opportunities in the community. InspireMusicAust is committed to increasing accessibility to classical, jazz and world music within the community. Our concerts are often scheduled at a time of day, making them available for those who find concerts at night difficult. We partner with venues to provide accessible programs to all within the community, regardless of their economic situation. To facilitate this, many of our concerts are entry by donation. However, we strongly encourage those who can donate to do so generously to help support our commitment to paying performers following the Musicians Union of Australia and awards.

Currently, our major program is the EMERGING CONCERT ARTISTS SERIES, which features outstanding young performers under 26. The musicians are given the freedom to curate, present, and perform a program in multiple venues, which helps create a performance progression path for emerging artists. In some concerts, the emerging artists work with established performers; in others, they pair up together. Other concerts we run include the annual MUSIC FOR MEDICINE concert, which features emerging artists in performance with a leading Australian artist at Wollongong Town Hal, with all profits going to a charity committed to the health and well-being of those in need. We also run CONCERTS ACROSS THE LAWN: A Musical Experience in Nature. As young artists progress, we offer to help them set up concerts involving a paid entry in different locations.
