MYAN WA Forum - Mental Health Self - Advocacy

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

To finish off the year, MYAN WA is excited to be able to return to our forum. This forum will be focused on the topic of mental health self-advocacy by migrant and refugee young people.

This event will give you a unique opportunity to hear directly from refugee and migrant young people about their experiences in navigating primary care and mental health services, the ways they and other young people can better advocate for themselves in these settings and the skills and knowledge other young people should be aware of. We will also be discussing findings from MYAN WA’s COVID surveys and consultations in particular around the impact on mental health and wellbeing.

This forum will also provide settlement, youth and community sector workers the knowledge on how to educate migrant and refugee young people about the skills and knowledge needed for mental health self-advocacy.

The first half of the forum will include a panel with lived experienced speakers and service providers, with plenty of time to ask questions. Then following a networking morning tea, you will have a chance to delve deeper into the topic through round table discussion.

*Further panellists will be announced closer to the date.*

RSVP's are essential as places are limited.

Please contact myanwa@yacwa.org.au if you have any questions regarding the forum.
