Support your child to live the life they want

The workshop from the Council for Intellectual Disability is about supported decision making – a way to put a person with disability at the centre of their decisions and their life.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Explore how to support your child to start to make decisions about who they want to be and what they want to do
  • Reflect on real challenges – like taking risks and making mistakes
  • Develop a personal, positive and practical vision of supported decision making for your child

You will share and grow through open discussion and collaborative activities with members of the Kindred Community. The workshop is co-facilitated by a person with lived experience of intellectual disability.

Who is this event for?

Families of young children with disability, developmental delay or neurodivergence across New South Wales.

While our events are primarily designed for these families, we value inclusivity and welcome all who would like to participate.
