Event description

Parenting a child with disability can sometimes feel lonely. Friends may drift, family might not fully understand, and it can be hard to find people who truly “get it.”

This session is about finding people who understand your journey, who celebrate the wins and who stand alongside you in the hard moments. We’ll talk about the power of peer connection, how to nurture supportive friendships, and the difference it can make to feel part of a community that sees and values you.

In this peer group we’ll explore

  • Why loneliness so often shows up for parents and carers

  • How to rebuild friendships that have drifted

  • Where to look for people who “get it”

  • What real connection can do for your wellbeing

This group is facilitated by Emily
Emily is a parent of two, with her eldest identified as Gifted, ADHD and Autistic. She walks alongside other parents with kindness, encouraging self-compassion and honouring the uniqueness of every family’s journey.
