To kick off NAIDOC week meet Trent (Koori Kinnections facilitator) and Gareth (North Sydney Bushcare) at The Coal Loader for a tour of Balls Head bushland. Learn about the natural history of this stunning peninsular, the disruptive events during its industrial period, the return to nature and community, and the stories passed down from our Indigenous Elders of how the endemic flora and fauna of the area can be used and protected for future generations.

About Trent: Trent Kelly is a proud Yuin and Wailwan man. Born and raised in the LaPerouse Aboriginal community in South Eastern Sydney on Dharawal country, he draws his cultural knowledge from his family, community and co-workers and strives to extend and deepen this knowledge as he believes that cultural education is a lifelong endeavor. 

Tours leave from outside The Coal Loader, 2 Balls Head Drive. Look for the tour sign. 

Please arrive on time as this is a walking tour so will depart soon after 10:30am.

All physical abilities are welcome as the site is fully accessible.

Booking essential – places are limited.

Cost: $0 to take part however ONLY book if you can make it.

What to bring: BYO keep cup and reusable water bottle etc. Close-toed shoes. Sun protection.

Wet Weather: In the case of wet weather, indoor activities may replace the outdoor tour but the event will still go ahead.
