Event description

Proudly celebrating our Indigenous connections to this land where our Botanic Gardens now stand. The Worrimi People have inhabited the Raymond Terrace area (Gaeweragal) for generations. NAIDOC Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate the on-going contributions from our local Indigenous community.

Please arrive in time for the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony.

Your ticket includes:

10.15 am Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Worimi man, Brett Chambers

10.45am  Story of Raymond Terrace with Jason Russell

11.00am  Bush Foods Walk with Brett Chambers

12.30pm  Cultural Burning Demonstration by Allison Warry from Local Land services

1.30pm   Dance Workshop with Brett Chambers

1.30pm   Bush Foods walk with Ken Page

You may also like to book into the Dot-Painting Workshop (paint your own story)with local Indigenous artist, Jason Russell ($35 per person).
