NALHN/BHFLHN EMET Evening - Respiratory Emergencies
Event description
The program is funded by NALHN as part of the ACEM EMET Program. There is no cost to attend the evening and dinner will be provided.
Clinical Lead for the program is Dr Peter Stuart, MBBS DRACOG Grad Cert (ClinSim) Grad Cert (ClinUS) Grad Dip(Biostats) MPH FACEM and Emergency Physician, Director of Clinical Education, Clinical Educator Flinders University
Medical officers, General Practitioners, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care settings are welcome to attend the evening workshops. Registration is required and as numbers for each session are limited please book early to avoid disappointment.
Each workshop is RACGP/ACRRM accredited and participants receive an attendance certificate for 3 hours of CPD.

Learning Outcomes:
- Differentiate clinical findings distinguishing moderate, severe and life threatening respiratory distress
- Prioritise the immediate management of the adult with serious or life threatening respiratory distress
- Contrast the differential diagnosis and emergency management of acute respiratory distress
- Discriminate the roles of CPAP/BiPAP and high flow humidified nasal prong therapy in the management of severe respiratory distress Â
