Narrm One Day Choir - October 17th
Description
Ever wanted to sing in a room full of people, where the focus is on connection, not perfection?
The Narrm One Day Choir gathers people together for an extended community choir session to learn one song and sing it together in a beautiful studio space!
Rachael and Elly, co-facilitators, are both Registered Music Therapists and musicians who believe that everyone can sing and that singing together is transformative. Community choirs create opportunities for people to:
Connect with our bodies
Release tension
Boost our mood
Regulate and co-regulate our nervous systems
Strengthen our connection to people in our community
Build confidence in our voices and musical identities
On the day, there will be people of all vocal levels coming together to learn a part, sing together in harmony, and hear the rich, resonant sound of singing together.

FAQs
- What is a One Day Choir?
A one day choir meets, learns, and sings a new song each session. The session is longer than a regular choir session (with opportunities for breaks). There is no audition or long term commitment involved.
- Do I need musical experience?
All singers are welcome. Whether you have never sung with others before, or if your voice has changed and you would like to get to know it again, or if you are a passionate and comfortable singer- everyone is welcome.
- Who is facilitating?
Two facilitators who are both experienced choir directors, Registered Music Therapists, and musicians. Together, Elly and Rachael facilitate the Narrm T.L.C choir, a choir that gathers fortnightly to build community and raise money for mutual aid. Rachael and Elly are both passionate about creating spaces for people to sing together.
- What do I need to prepare?
All materials will be provided. If you would like, you can learn your part before the day. Or, you can show up on the day with nothing but a water bottle and your voice. The venue is a concrete basement, and we will record the unique sound of all of our voices in the space on the day.
