In this 3-day retreat we will be exploring uncovering natural being. This is a gentle and potent system of practice rooted in East Asian Buddhism as well as Early Taoism. This embodied practice helps restore natural balance to body and mind, and helps restore the sense of integration with the world.

The retreat will include:

  • Learning to practice and find ease in various postures as well as moving between them.

  • Cultivating gentle, effortless continual awareness.

  • Natural entries into non-production and emptiness.

  • Simple integration of the transcendent with the mundane.

  • Making friends with body, mind and the world.

  • Qigong and daoyin

  • Restorative forgiveness practices.

  • Exploring how to live naturally, regardless of our surroundings.

Jason Bartlett emphasizes a practical approach to Buddha Dharma, drawing practice instructions from a wide variety of traditions. He teaches an understanding of Buddhism which can be applied in the tumult of daily life, with the aspiration to support practitioners at all stages on the path to complete liberation. His specializations include jhana, liberating insight work, nianfo/recollection of the Buddha, prajñāpāramitā, emptiness and non-dual practices.

After the death of his brother in 2019, Jason founded Luminous Dharma with the aspiration to freely offer Buddhist teachings to all beings. Jason continues to learn and practice Dharma from across many Buddhist traditions including: Seon, Chan, Pure Land, Vajrayana and Theravada Buddhism, as well as ongoing training with Santikaro Upasaka, Leigh Brasington, Venerable Wu Kai, and Seon Master Jeon Bong.
