Nature Journaling September 23rd - mindfulness, connection and creativity
Description
Observe. Wonder. Connect.
These welcoming outdoor sessions invite participants to slow down, notice surroundings, and engage with nature through sketching, writing, reflection, and curiosity. No artistic experience is needed.
Facilitated by a counsellor and environmental scientist, this group supports wellbeing, mindfulness, self-awareness, creativity, and connection to both nature and community.
The Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre provides its own outdoor garden setting and is situated next to parkland.
All ages are welcome.
FAQs
- What do I need to bring?
Bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and wear clothing and footwear suitable for an outdoor garden environment.
Bring a portable chair or stool if sitting on the ground may be difficult or uncomfortable for you.
A journal (which you keep) and art materials are supplied, but feel free to bring your own if preferred.
Tea and coffee is provided.
- What if it's raining on the day?
While we're hoping for sunshine, there are undercover areas where we can work and create out of the rain.
- Do I need to be artistic?
Nature journaling is a creative process, but no artistic skills are required. Curiosity and observation are central to the process.
