Nature Reconnection Walk at Alex Forest 12 October 24
Event description
Nature Reconnection Walk
Join us for an afternoon retreat of time reconnecting with nature, being guided through a relational nature therapy practice at Alex Forest Conservation Park, Sunshine Coast / Kabi Kabi country.
This is a style of forest bathing (also known as forest and nature therapy) that is for everyone, whether you're a forest child at heart, or more comfortable inside. In this small group guided session we'll wander through the hidden sanctuary of Alex Forest Conservation Reserve at Alexandra Headlands exploring ways to reconnect with nature.
We follow a sequence of activities that awaken our senses and help us develop our relationship with nature, the more-than-human world. It is a simple and down-to-Earth practice that improves our wellbeing, strengthens connection to self, nature and other humans and acknowledges and reveres country.
For more information, including answers to questions such as "What happens on a nature therapy walk?", "Is there scientific proof that it's good for us?" and "What should I wear?!" visit the Held Outside website.
Meeting details and other important information will be shared with registered attendees via email before the event date. Preparation for the experience requires my knowing how many participants are joining in advance, and having your contact details in case of an event cancellation or change due to weather. If you can not book online, please contact Jay heldoutside@gmail.com or 0476 212 616 to reserve a place.
The path at Alex Forest is mostly flat with some trip hazards. You can get there with a three minute walk (on the flat) from the bus stop at the Alex Heads surf club (Alexandra Pde at Alexandra Headlands, route numbers 600, 611, 615, 616, 619 - link to Translink).
