About the artist:Â Lindy Chicola
Growing up surrounded by nature, art, and a diverse cultural family background had a strong influence on Lindy's work and interests. Since receiving a B.F.A. at Rhode Island School of Design, she's been involved in one community-building art project after another. After exploring the cultural meaning of art more deeply at Free Columbia, she earned an M.A. in Art Therapy from Lesley University. Now through non-profits like the Art Therapy Institute, she has the privilege of facilitating art as a mode of healing with amazing people; and at Hearth collective, she gets to explore the magical way art builds community in collaboration with others. When given the opportunity, she loves to help the wide range of people she encounters explore any potential art medium and build empowerment whenever possible. She's constantly striving to incorporate eco-friendly, inclusive, and socially-aware approaches in the arts for psycho-social renewal.
