Neuk Create and Connect - Collage + Stitch
Event description
Join us for Neuk Create + Connect: Collage + Stitch, a relaxed meetup for neurodivergent creatives.
This is an un-directed, unstructured session that lets you play with the materials at your own pace. We will provide a range of collage materials and tools, from traditional paper to natural elements, we won't be working on a specific project or design. However textile artist Tzipporah Johnston also be on hand to demonstrate for anyone interested in adding stitched elements to their collage.
Whether you’re looking to connect with other creatives or simply enjoy some creative downtime, this is a space for you to express yourself in a neuroaffirmative environment. All tools and materials provided.
Drinks and snacks will be provided!
Access -
The session takes place in the café space at South Side Community Centre. All rooms are wheelchair accessible. The Café space is on the ground floor, and can be accessed from the level, step-free back door (there is a path that runs from Nicolson Street, along the side of the building, leading to the rear car parking area). If you need to use the wheelchair accessible entrance, please let us know when you book so that staff can be ready on the day.
Activities - The activities require reasonably good fine motor skills - we will be drawing with pens, cutting with scissors and scalpels, and manipulating small parts. If any of those things pose a barrier for you, please reach out and we will find a way to accommodate. We are happy to adapt any activity to accommodate your needs - just let us know!
Please let us know if you have any access or dietary requirements when booking
