👉🏽 What can you expect in the class?

Each class is 45 minutes, which is shorter than the usual class time of 75 minutes offered in the studio timetable. This has been created so that you can experience a variety and get a little taster of what is on offer at the studio.

There is a 15-minute break between classes. If you are booked for the next class, please feel free to enjoy a cup of tea, nourish yourself with a yummy raw slice, spend some time journaling, chat to your neighbour or simply rest on your mat.

If you are not booked for the next class, please take a maximum of 10 minutes to have your cup of tea, enjoy a raw slice and allow for some integration time before leaving. This allows 5 minutes for the next person to take their space on the mat that they have booked. Please fold your blankets and place props as you found them on the mat.

Before the Core Restore Class, we have a cacao offering and a welcome from Katia and Jess. You don't have to join in drinking a cup, and you are welcome to join the community welcome as you are.

All props are provided, including mats. If you wish to bring your own mat, you are welcome to do so. We have blankets, but if it's a cold day, it may be a good idea to bring your own to snuggle with an extra layer (especially delicious during the Restorative yoga!).

Expect to feel deeply nourished and nurtured, so that you leave with a regulated nervous system, a present and rested mind, and a peaceful heart. When we can take the time to pause, connect inwards to our divine feminine, and restore ourselves through movement as medicine, we build resilience to step into our divine masculine with courage and joy.

👉🏽Class descriptions:

🌿 Core Restore Yoga 🌿

This class supports busy moms and women seeking to restore the healthy functioning of their core and pelvis. Through a tapestry of therapeutic yoga, breathwork and somatic movement, you are guided to move your body with intention and purpose. The class is gentle, trauma-informed and suitable for every body.

🌿 Slow Flow Yoga 🌿

A nurturing space to move, breathe & return to home to yourself. A space for everybody, from all walks of life and ages. Breathwork is intelligently woven into the flow, enhancing your energy and grounding you into your body. Transitions between poses are slow and mindful, giving you time and space to feel deeply, release tension and quiet the mind.

🌿 Yin & Restorative Yoga 🌿

This deeply nourishing class is designed to restore the nervous system. In a fast-paced world, this space is held to surrender, breathe, and come home to ourselves. Poses are on the ground, supported with as many props as you need. The intention is to yield - to nurture our divine feminine as we turn inward for a much needed pause. From here, we can enter our more masculine selves with greater strength and resiliency.

👉🏽 Who are your teachers?

💜 Katia Murdoch 💜

Katia's offerings are a soulful and potent blend of extensive work in therapeutic yoga and intuitive wisdom. She gently guides you on a journey of embodiment through somatic practices interwoven in the yoga asana. Your journey with her is nurtured through slow and mindful movement, at a pace that offers sustainable transformation from within. Her specialities lie with holding space for women in all phases of life, supporting those seeking to address pelvic health, restoration of the core, prenatal care, postpartum reintegration and mobility for seniors. She weaves yin, restorative and yoga nidra to create a deeply healing space for the divine feminine. Her children's yoga classes offer a space for children to express themselves creatively, to feel seen and heard, and to develop a felt sense of resiliency in their bodies, rippling into a healthy mental and emotional state.

Katia studied her 200hr training with the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre® (RYS) in Dharamshala, India. Between 2012 and 2014, she became a mother of two beautiful children, shifting her perspective and approach to teaching from a space of compassion, experience and understanding. As she flourished in pregnancy, she sought to evolve her practice, which led her to prenatal training with women’s wellness expert, J’anaki Ashira.

Nineteen months later, she was recovering from two back-to-back pregnancies with a miscarriage in between that had left her with severe diastasis recti (abdominal separation), core weakness and persistent sacroiliac dysfunction. It became her soul mission to put the pieces back together and find her way back to wholeness.

She gained accreditation in womb yoga, post-natal re-integration therapy, restorative, yin yoga and yoga nidra. She wanted the whole gamut of healing at her disposal. Her children deserved the full presence and strength of the mother they chose. With this powerful intention, she has gained not only strength but a sense of unwavering resiliency.

💜 Jess MacMillan 💜

As a busy mother of three, Jess came to yoga exhausted, disconnected, and looking for some time to herself. She intended to develop strength and flexibility in her physical body, believing she had a natural aptitude for it. You’ve got to love the ego!

What started as a purely physical pursuit soon grew into a regular practice that not only nurtured her body but also created space and quiet in her mind. After a long history of anxiety and depression, this change was much needed. She started to feel calmer and more present. She became more patient and engaged with the people in her life, especially her children. Yoga helped her find herself.

By turning inward, she learned to value herself and rebuild her self-esteem. It put her on the road to healing from her past and helped her rewrite her personal narrative. She started to put herself first. She set boundaries around what she needed and became the mother, partner and friend she always knew she wanted to be.

With a background in Hatha Yoga (Mentor Program TYC 2016) and Kundalini Yoga (Teacher Training with Soreya James 2024), complemented by her background in Human Nutrition (BCApSc Otago 2001) and extensive personal experience in mental health, her classes provide a holistic approach to achieving better health. She aims to help her students achieve balance between their physical and mental well-being, learn to manage stress, cultivate their inner awareness, and walk alongside them as they journey to discover their true selves.
