NGV Kids on Tour: Drop-In Art at Benalla Art Gallery
Benalla Art Gallery
benalla, australia
Event description
Each summer the National Gallery of Victoria [NGV] works with regional galleries to offer FREE art activities to children and families. Kids can explore the works of NGV artists then create their own art.
Activities this year include:
- Creating and drawing symbols inspired by Jenna Lee, a Gulumerridjin [Larrakia], Wardaman and Karajarri Saltwater woman with Japanese, Chinese, Filipino and Anglo-Australian ancestry. Her paper lanterns shaped like dilly bags were exhibited in Melbourne Now.
- Artists and wildlife carers Gracia Haby and Louise Jennison have selected images of native Australian plants and animals that kids can cut, paste and collage to create a home for the greyheaded flying fox.
- Daniel To and Emma Aiston are designers that see things differently - when they see a peanut; they imagine a table! They have made a drawing activity that encourages creativity and problem-solving. Kids will design an object inspired by their favourite food using Daniel and Emma’s tips and tricks
Ages: 4–12
Children under the age of 9 must have a carer present to assist
