NIDA Hair & Make-Up Workshop in Parramatta

NIDA is offering a free, hands-on workshop for students interested in exploring careers in hair, make-up and special effects for screen and media.

Led by Senior Lecturer Cynthia Simango, alongside SFX industry tutor Kuldeep Kaur and current NIDA Hair & Make-up students, this 4-hour session provides insight into studying the Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) at NIDA.

Students will:

• Discover career pathways in hair, make-up and SFX for screen and media

• Watch a live SFX and character transformation demonstration and learn how special effects help bring characters and stories to life

• Explore curly and textured hair, diverse skin tones and cultural awareness in professional hair and make-up

• Explore prosthetics, character make-up and special effects

• Interpret an industry-style creative brief and design their own character face chart

• Meet NIDA tutors and current students and ask questions about studying and working in the industry​
