NIDA is offering a free, hands-on workshop for students interested in exploring careers in hair, make-up and special effects for screen and media.

Led by Senior Lecturer Cynthia Simango, alongside SFX industry tutor Kuldeep Kaur and current NIDA Hair & Make-up students, this 4-hour session provides insight into studying the Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) at NIDA.

Students will:

Discover career pathways in hair, make-up and SFX for screen and media
Watch a live SFX and character transformation demonstration and learn how special effects help bring characters and stories to life
Explore curly and textured hair, diverse skin tones and cultural awareness in professional hair and make-up
Explore prosthetics, character make-up and special effects
Interpret an industry-style creative brief and design their own character face chart
Meet NIDA tutors and current students and ask questions about studying and working in the industry
