No Room For Racism Conversations Workshop

Join Common Threads for this interactive workshop about how you can build support for justice through the power of 1-1 conversations.

Led by experienced facilitators, this session will help you build the skills and confidence to:

• Denounce the far-right, fascist and neo-Nazi groups, individuals, rhetoric and ideas — without qualification.

• Support Treaty, Gellung Warl and the right of First Nations peoples to self-determination, justice and equitable representation.

• Reject racism, racial vilification and political scapegoating, including the use of First Nations, migrant, refugee, multicultural and faith communities as political footballs.

• Take meaningful action to eliminate discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare, education, policing and the legal system.

• Defend every person and their right to practise their culture and traditions, speak their language and live free from prejudice and discrimination.

• Lead in a way that brings Victorians together and celebrates the diversity that makes our state stronger.

This workshop will have a focus on readiness for community conversation events like door-knocks and market stalls in the lead-up to the Victorian election.
