What happens behind a screen can change a life.

A teenager being blackmailed and too terrified to tell anyone.

A woman discovering her image has been manipulated or shared without her consent.

A man being threatened with intimate images being sent to his family or workplace.

Sextortion. Deepfakes. Image-based abuse. Cyberbullying. Online grooming.

These aren't distant problems happening to other people.

They are happening to women, men, young people and families every day.

On 8 October 2026, Melmark Law, in collaboration with SmackTalk, is bringing Melbourne together for NO SAFE SCREEN an evening confronting what is really happening behind our screens and what we can do about it.

Hosted by Melanie Vairawanathan and Landi Freyer of Melmark Law, the evening will bring together powerful voices across lived experience, online safety, advocacy and law, alongside professionals, business leaders, educators, parents and members of the community. Together, we'll confront one of the most important questions of our time:

How do we protect ourselves, our families and each other in a digital world changing faster than we can keep up?

This is about recognising the warning signs. Starting conversations before a crisis. Knowing where to turn. And making sure that when something happens behind a screen, nobody feels they have to face it alone.

No Safe Screen. No one immune.

ABOUT SMACKTALK

SmackTalk was founded by Wayne Holdsworth following the devastating loss of his 17-year-old son, Mac, to sextortion.

Wayne has turned unimaginable tragedy into a national mission focused on online safety, education and suicide prevention, helping young people know that no online mistake, threat or moment of fear is worth their life.

Funds raised through No Safe Screen will help SmackTalk reach more young people, parents, schools and communities with education, prevention and potentially life-saving conversations.

Every ticket helps this important work go further.
