Event description

The Dylan's are back for another moorditj term of Noongar Language lessons at the Vic Park Community Centre. YAY!!

Youngsters will learn Noongar language and culture through a bunch of fun games, music, craft activities, storytelling, artefacts demonstrations and more!
The lessons are inclusive of Indigenous and non-Indigenous folks and offer a friendly, vibrant, hands on learning space to suit all ages and learning styles.

We've had great participation from parents in recents terms, so please feel welcome to stay, learn and soak up the fun with your kids!
We welcome both new and familiar faces, with the classes designed so that everyone will learn something new.

About the teachers

Dylan Collard (of Kalyakoorl) is a proud Wadjak Balardong Noongar man - local Vic Park resident, primary school teacher, and language expert. These sessions are ran with the help of Dylan Shillito (of Ngalak Nidja), a proud Wadjak Balardong Noongar man, performer, musician and artist.

The Dylans have been facilitating these Afterschool Noongar Language Lessons at VPCC for over a year now, along with numerous programs at schools and organisations across Perth.

A huge thanks to the Town of Victoria Park for making these lessons possible in Terms 2 & 3, 2024.
