INVITATION TO NSW CVRN EARLY AND MID-CAREER RESEARCHERS
The NSW CVRN is giving our early and mid-career researcher (EMCR) members the opportunity to build their skills and confidence in public speaking and networking at our 2024 EMCR Networking Event.
Join us on the eve of the Sydney Cardiovascular Symposium at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute for an afternoon of learning and networking, designed to help you unlock your potential when communicating with others in your role as a researcher.
This practical and interactive session will cover:
- body language techniques to win over a crowd
- how to present with greater impact
- techniques to build rapport during small talk
- status-based communication.
About the facilitator – David Crisante
Future Science Talks Director, David Crisante, has over 20 years’ experience in communications. He is a former ABC journalist and political speech writer who has trained thousands of people on effective and impactful public speaking. He was head of media and communications at several science and health-based organisations including Neuroscience Research Australia, the Rural Doctors and icare.
Future Science Talks is dedicated to increasing the skills of scientists, researchers and others who work in technical fields so that they are more confident and effective communicators. Our workshops are underpinned by our experiences as trainers within science and health-based organisations. Our goal is to increase the number of scientists who can engage with major donors, public audiences and corporate partners. This engagement will help scientists to general new funding and increase uptake of their research findings.
