Nutrient smart soils workshop - Raleigh
Description
Join North Coast Local Land Services to learn about your soil types, nutrients, and fertility flows across your farm, and how to manage your soil to its capability at one of our 2-part workshops.
Event details:
The full 2-day soils course is designed for commercial agricultural producers. The day 1 option is suitable for rural landholders with a general interest in soils.
Day 1: Soil health basics:
Soil formation, physical properties, land capability and DIY soil health testing as a practical session. Attendees will receive farm maps.
Those attending the full course will receive a soil chemistry test kit per business (worth $180).
Day 2: Nutrient Smart Soils:
Learn to interpret your test results and address the main soil constraints.
Introduction to nutrient budgeting.
(Usually held 8 weeks after session one- November).
Additional details:
Morning tea and lunch provided.
Locations of workshops will be sent before the workshop.
Each session has space for 15 businesses- you may register up to 2 people per business.
Workshop costs:
Day 1 course: $20 per person.
Full 2-day course: $50 per business (up to 2 people). Includes soil testing.
