About the National Multicultural Mental Health Month

National Multicultural Mental Health Month is an initiative by the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to bring attention to the mental health challenges faced by individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting inclusive mental health services that cater to all Australians, regardless of their cultural heritage.

This year, our theme “Lived Experience Leads the Way” honours the insight, empowerment, and resilience that lived experience brings to the mental health space. It reminds us that meaningful progress begins when we listen, learn, and foster environments where people feel safe and supported.
