Event description

Our young people need our support, now more than ever. Around 1 in 3 young people in Australia are experiencing high or very high levels of psychological distress with rates of both depression and anxiety continuing to increase, despite the best efforts of the mental health sector and government over many years. Most concerningly, the latest research shows that 1 in 20 young people are experiencing high or very high levels of suicidal ideation.

Our policy brief offers some practical, actionable steps for the Australian Government to reverse the distressing trends above and usher in evidence-based mental health programs in schools - a necessity to ensure the well-being of our young people. Please join us at Parliament House in Canberra to hear from leading researchers in this area.
