Organising for a Swimmable Birrarung
Work Together for a Healthier River
Swimming in the Birrarung is a sign of a healthy, thriving river that supports people, wildlife and the broader ecosystem.
Join us for an interactive workshop exploring the many roles individuals, organisations and communities can play in creating a swimmable Birrarung.
Across Melbourne, advocacy and action have been underway for decades. Together, we'll explore the many movements contributing to a healthier river, from citizen science and sporting clubs to community campaigns, education and environmental initiatives and discover how these efforts connect as part of a city-wide movement.
You'll leave with a better understanding of the role you or your organisation can play in helping create a healthy, thriving and swimmable Birrarung.
Please note: This event will be held in the Multi-purpose Room.
This event is being generously hosted by Regen Melbourne.

Acknowledgement of Country
Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong Boonwurrung peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
