Event description

Joan Heavey has always had an interest in native flora and fauna and is passionate about preserving and protecting Noosa’s natural environment. She has been involved with many environmental organisations and was convenor of the Noosa Parks Association Botany Group for many years.

Since retiring she has spent much of her time discovering the natural wonders of the Noosa Shire, in particular our local native orchids.

Joan’s new book, ‘A Field Guide to Native Orchids of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve and the Sunshine, Cooloola and Fraser Coasts’, will be available on the day for $25. (Please bring cash if you’d like to purchase a copy.)
