Overview of Privacy Laws in Queensland

Summary:

This ‘Lunch and Learn’ online short course aims to provide staff with an understanding of the privacy laws that may be relevant to their organisation. It will discuss the rights and obligations of all staff in relation to handling personal information, including obtaining consent, providing access to personal information, and ensuring the security and confidentiality of the data they handle. It will help staff learn to identify common privacy risks and potential breaches they may encounter in their day-to-day work, such as unauthorised access to personal information, data breaches, and mishandling of sensitive data, and provide guidance on how to mitigate and respond to these risks.
