Camp SCRAP: RPS Day Off! Teen Patch Making & Mending 10/2
Event description
Camp SCRAP: RPS Day Off! Teen Patch Making & Mending
Thursday, October 2nd from 12-4pm (RPS will be closed)
This camp is for youth ages 12-17 who LOVE art-making, inventing, crafts, and bringing their creative ideas to life!
In this one-day camp, we will introduce the art of mending as both a practical skill and a form of creative expression by learning how to patch holes and make personalized, decorative patches!
Along the way, we’ll talk about the why behind mending—how it saves money, reduces waste, and helps us connect more personally with the things we wear. By the end of camp, participants will leave with new skills, a fresh perspective on fashion, and maybe even a new favorite patch or stitch they can show off.
No experience needed—just bring your creativity (and maybe an item of clothing in need of some customizing)!
Parents: For campers under 16, we’ll need you to sign them in and out each day—thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
Please also pack a snack or bagged lunch (no refrigeration or reheating needed) so your camper has plenty of energy. Trust us—camp is way more fun when nobody’s hangry!
We offer scholarship opportunities! You can apply through the Camp SCRAP website.
Please address any questions to richmondeducation@scrapcreativereuse.org.
Camp cancelation & refund policy:
