If we don't shape our future, it will be shaped for us.

People First - WA is proud to present:

Shape the Future 3: Green, Greed and the Grid

For too long, energy policy has been hijacked by corporate greed, foreign interests, and a green religious drive to scare away the climate demons.

The lifeblood of modern civilization is cheap energy, and it's being squandered on a futile quest to change the weather. Our electricity bills are rising, the factories and smelters are closing, jobs are moving to China, and average Australians are struggling to keep the lights on and the fridge running.

At the People First Party, we believe energy policy must have one clear priority, people first.

Join us for this hard-hitting talk Shape the Future 3 - Green, Greed and the Grid with Jo Nova, a well known science educator and a world renown blogger (not many bloggers can boast of 25,000 hits A DAY on their blog!) and Gerard Rennick, joining us via live link from Queensland, as we cut through the absurdity of using our electrical grid to manage the Jet Streams:

⚡ Australia had cheap energy and lost it. But we can get it back.

⚡Religious “net zero” targets are driving up costs and threatening energy security.

⚡Unreliable, decentralized energy is more vulnerable to cyber attack and hostile intent, and in your home, too!

⚡The hidden greed behind subsidies, contracts, and vested interests are making some people very rich.

⚡ It's not about "the science" and it never was.

Come and hear:

⚡Practical, balanced solutions that deliver affordable, reliable power while responsibly caring for our environment

⚡Hear real stories from Australian families, miners, manufacturers, and regional communities bearing the brunt of current policies

⚡A positive, pro-people vision for an all-of-the-above energy future. One that harnesses our resources, backs baseload power, embraces innovation, and refuses to sacrifice living standards

If they wanted to reduce emissions there's one thing they could have done 20 years ago but they won't do it. Why?

Energy is the foundation of modern life. When it becomes expensive or unreliable, the heaviest burden falls on working people, pensioners, and small businesses, not the wealthy or well-connected. This is not about left versus right. It’s about reality versus rhetoric, and putting Australian families and workers back at the centre of the debate.

Come prepared for straight talk, fresh ideas, and a roadmap that puts People First. Power belongs to the people — not the grid of special interests.

EVENT DETAILS

📅 Saturday, 30 May 2026
📍 Mt Hawthorn Main Hall, 197 Scarborough Beach Road, Mt Hawthorn
🕒 In Person: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
💻 Online Live Link: 3:00pm – 5:30pm

While we are grateful to be able to offer an online viewing option, we encourage everyone to attend in person if possible. There is something powerful about being in the room together.

Some of the most valuable moments from previous events have happened before the presentations even began — people meeting for the first time, sharing ideas, discussing concerns about the direction of the country, and building connections with others who care deeply about Australia’s future.

These are the kinds of engaging conversations that simply do not happen online. Because community happens in person, not online. Sometimes we do not have a choice especially with WA’s rural regions and online attendance helps bridge the gap.

Attending in person gives you the opportunity to:

⚡ Connect directly with other members and supporters
⚡ Be part of the atmosphere and energy of the event
⚡ Enjoy our delicious grazing table with drinks supplied by our sponsor Funk Drinks Co.
⚡ Have meaningful conversations and networking opportunities
⚡ Help strengthen the growing People First community here in WA
