World Philosophy Day celebrates the enduring value of philosophy for the development of human thought and as an everyday practice that can transform societies by stimulating intercultural dialogue.

Event format:

This event includes 2 sessions (6pm and 7pm).

You can only register for one session. During your session you will be matched with two different people for one-on-one conversations. You will be provided with conversation cards inspired by the world's most famous philosophers.

Drinks and nibbles will be available on arrival. Participants are welcome to spend time in the lovely Boot Factory courtyard before and after their session. No alcohol is permitted in the courtyard.

Parking options:

The Boot Factory is located within walking distance from Bondi Junction station and Waverley Library. Free 2- hour parking is available at Waverley Library.

How will I be matched?

Participants are automatically matched based on the information provided in the expression of interest (EOI) form Perfect Strangers. Please ensure you complete the EOI form if this is your first Perfect Strangers event.

What will I be talking about? Do I need to know anything about philosophy?

No prior knowledge is required. Conversation cards will be provided to help conversations flow. You will be able to choose which questions you feel comfortable answering with your match. Two days before the event, you will receive our Recipe for Good Conversations.

Will the event be accessible?

The event will take place on the ground floor of the Boot Factory. People with access requirements can request a free parking permit. Subject to availability, the permit allows the vehicle to be parked on Spring street.

Can I register for more than one session?

Please only purchase one ticket as we want to ensure a maximum number of people participate in Perfect Strangers. If you register twice, you will be asked to cancel one of your registrations.

Can I register a plus one?

Plus ones have to register separately and will be matched to other participants.
