A bit more about your moderator and panellists...

Kylie Sturgess is completing a four-year PhD at Murdoch University's Sound and Radio department, focusing on creative radio and podcasting in tertiary education. Before that, she did an M.Ed on the statistical analysis of paranormal and pseudoscientific beliefs. That research was aided by doing a podcast which started back in 2009, called Token Skeptic. Since that time, she has presented on RTRFM 92.1FM, Northside Radio 89.7FM and ABC Emergency. She was a top eight finalist in the 2020 Asia-Pacific 3-Minute Thesis competition and currently teaches radio and podcasting at Murdoch University.

Heidi Anderson has worked in breakfast radio as a host around the country (Perth, Newcastle, Bunbury, Bathurst) for ten years sharing stories from everyone else’s life. Now, Heidi is the host of First Time Parents Podcast, in the midst of writing her first book and running her own business coaching women in self-love, mindset and business ideas.

Lachie Samuel is the host of the Open Up Podcast, which he first started recording as a suicidal FIFO worker in his donga, has become a Top10 mental health podcast. Since then, that podcast has allowed Lachie to create a business helping FIFO businesses better understand and educate their workforce on pre-emptive mental health. He also created the first ever FIFO Mental Health Summit, is a keynote speaker for the Mental Health Foundation of Australia and has been nominated for West Australian of the Year (result pending).

Elsa Silberstein is a podcast presenter and producer. She has worked as a freelancer across corporate and creative ventures helping companies and brands realise their audience and create intimate audio stories. Her podcast credits include Stories from the Inside, All The Best, Untold WA, The Lester Prize Podcast and All In The Mind. Recently, she produced The Smiling Mind Podcast which reached #1 in Fitness and Mental Health categories on the Apple Podcast charts. Elsa began her career in audio as a late night presenter on Triple J and currently hosts The Done Thing; a curious guide to social norms.
