PHILLY FRINGE: Minivan
Event description
Minivan is the electropop spectacle of genre-defying producer, composer, and theater maker Ron Shalom. Traversing clowning and drag, Minivan careens through character transformations using custom lighting instruments, original music, camp couture, and instructional choreography. Runway, the fifth full-length Minivan album, fuses driving rock and expansive orchestral arrangements. For Philly Fringe, Minivan premieres Millennial Library, a new live show with an accompanying album forthcoming Fall 2025.
About the Artist:
Ron Shalom is a composer, installation artist, electronic musician, and theater maker in New York City. In collaboration with visual artists, he has exhibited internationally and created permanent public sound installations. He is the founder and Music Director of Belly Chorus, a community choir laboratory for ensemble-led vocal works by New York City composers, and he is a co-founder of the Daxophone Consort, a composer's collective reinterpreting the avant-garde canon and creating new interdisciplinary works. Ron is often engaged as a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer for film and theater.
