Piano Smash
Event description
Piano Smash: The Grand Piano
A muse that has brought out the creativity and imagination of musicians for centuries. On September 14th , 2024 three unique artists are going to smash the ivories and make them scream as you witness the passion and musical electricity it inspires. Comedian and storyteller Jake Taylor Smith, country music jewel Sara Jade, and TERI's own music pro Kyle Ramirez bring their individual style and intensity to classic hits and engaging originals at this high energy showcase of the beloved instrument.
Jake Taylor Smith
Jake Taylor Smith began his jazz career at 12, teaching himself piano and finding inspiration in Sinatra's style. He left an esteemed Music Studies program to pursue his passion in Nashville, where he gained recognition as a smooth jazz aficionado and toured nationally with Indie bands. Smith is dedicated to creating jazz standards and is also known for his comedic content as "Short Jake." When not performing, he enjoys surfing in Del Mar and rock climbing in national parks.
Sara Jade
Sara Jade first emerged as an Americana artist in 2021 and has grown into a dynamic Rock performer with a concert worthy sound. Adopting the keytar in late 2021, she transitioned from a piano singer songwriter into a high energy front woman with magnetic stage presence and powerful vocal performances. Growing up in musical theater and sitting in as a female vocalist in her father’s classic rock band, shaped her stylistic intonations and evocative expression. She believes music is the soundtrack for our memories, which is made apparent by the diversity of her songwriting. From anthemic choruses to soulful finger picked love songs, Jade’s sound is experiential and seamlessly scores the eras of a lifetime.
Kyle Ramirez
Kyle Ramirez currently serves as TERI's Musical Arts Professional. He thoroughly enjoys providing day-to-day songs and smiles to our musicians with special needs while assisting their development on their desired instruments. Previous creative involvements include projects like San Diego salsa band "Rumba Y Soul", his local church praise and worship team, jazz ensemble "Painters Of Palettes", and several years of private piano lessons with California Music Studios. He looks forward to developing the next generation of TERI Players and providing many more years of recording, education, and performances with the clients!
