Pickworth Memorial Foil 2024

                                      PICKWORTH MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 2024
                                           Ranking Competition for FOIL Events

Brian Pickworth represented NZ in the 1960 Rome Olympics and in the 1958, 1962, 1966 and 1970 Empire and Commonwealth Games. 
Originally a keen Rugby player, he switched to fencing after an accident in which he lost his left arm above the elbow. He represented NZ in all three fencing disciplines and won a bronze medal in the sabre teams event at the 1960 Rome Olympics. In addition to gaining distinction as an Olympian fencer, he is also remembered as having been an active tennis player.

Entry is open to those 13 years and over at date of competition.

(in special circumstances, and by agreement between a coach and the DT, students younger than 13 may be allowed to enter our Regional competitions)

Entry Fees 

Standard registration $30.00 plus booking and cc fees up to 23.55h on Thursday September 19th 2024.
Late entry is $50.00 plus booking and cc fees.

Late entries are subject to availability and at the discretion of the DT.  Last entry is 23.55h on FRIDAY before the competition (September 20th 2024)

‘Out of Town’ Entries

This applies to any fencer from the FENCING NORTH REGION who does not reside in Auckland. 
If you are a Fencing North member who lives outside of the metropolitan Auckland area, please contact the DT for a discount code.

EQUIPMENT STANDARDS

For foil and Epée, weights and gauges will be employed at the piste.

There will be no gear check for this competition but all clothing must be in a good state of repair.

Affiliation/Membership

To compete in Fencing North competitions you must be affiliated with Fencing New Zealand as a FULL COMPETITIVE MEMBER. The FeNZ membership starts on 01/JAN  and lasts a calendar year. Please always sign up with the same name, to help us accredit ranking points.

FeNZ affiliation fees are additional to the competition entry.
