The Story Spine: A Narrative Long Form Workshop - PITS Festival 2026

Hosted by Mark Gabriel, Daniel Innes, & Zoe Lim (Mad Libz)

Do you like improv? Do you like telling stories? Ever wondered how to improvise a story?

This workshop teaches the Story Spine as a tool for creating improvised narratives — we'll bring our experience playing in this form and share what we've learnt. By the end, you'll be able to do an improvised narrative story.

There is optional musical improv, but this is not compulsory, nor the focus of the workshop.

Who are we? Coming from different creative and musical backgrounds, Mark, Dan and Zoe realised one day that telling stories in the form of song brought joy to their collective hearts.

Founded in 2026, Mad Libz brings improvised narrative musicals to Perth, including Open Improv Night and Teams! Teams! Teams! (both PITS).
