Pizzaiolo AtoZ Italian Cooking Series
Event description
Pizzaiolos, the specialists who make pizzas, wear two kitchen hats. Wearing the baker’s hat, they’re experts at making scratch pizza dough (using natural leaven, of course) and stretching it into perfect pizza discs. Wearing their chef’s hat, they make pizza sauces and toppings and pair them with just the right cheeses. Then wearing both hats, the pizzaioli finishes the job by baking their pies to perfection. In our hands-on class, instructor Jeff King will teach students how to be both baker and chef. Using sourdough leaven, students will make pizza dough from scratch, shape and stretch dough into pies, and make sauces and toppings - and then bake off their pies. Students also learn how to make a simple tricolore salad and master the fine art of drinking Italian wines during a slow, communal meal. A light dessert will be served.
