In this two-day workshop with local potter Alex Prentice, you will learn how to make plates and trim them. 

Please note the following dates and times: 

Sat 10 June 9-12: Making plates            
Sat 17 June 9-11: Trimming plates

Participants will be making smaller plates for a start (around 18cm diameter) to learn the techniques, then move on to larger plates (23cm diameter).

Three methods of making a plate will be taught (for each of the two sizes). The advantages and disadvantages of each method will be discussed.

Prerequisites: Must be confident at centring 800gm of clay and lay down a bed of clay to hold a bat. If you are presently unable to do this, practice these skills so you can join us.
