30 Years of Platform Arts: Anniversary Party

Platform Arts welcomes you to the official opening of our anniversary program, 30 Years of Platform Arts.

A city is shaped by the culture it chooses to sustain.

For 30 years, Platform Arts has been part of Geelong’s creative life: a place where artists have gathered, ideas have been tested, careers have begun, and audiences have encountered something unexpected. Across changing names, generations and art forms, Platform Arts has remained committed to creative risk, artistic development and the belief that regional artists deserve serious investment. Its history lives not only in an archive, but in the artists, artworks, relationships and cultural experiences that continue to shape Geelong today.

From 22 October to 12 December, 30 Years of Platform Arts brings this living history together through an expansive alumni exhibition, activated archival material, artist stories, workshops and public programs.

For our 30th year, we’re not just celebrating the past; we’re building what comes next.

The launch is more than an opening event; it welcomes artists, peers, collaborators, and audience—from throughout our history—to come together and celebrate our ongoing place in our local arts ecology. The night's activities and entertainment will reflect the energy, care, and creativity that have defined the organisation across its many iterations.
