'big beautiful female theory' – play reading by Rebecca Lister
Event description
'big beautiful female theory' is a new play by Daylesford playwright Rebecca Lister, with dramaturgy by Ballan writer and artist Eloise Grills. This new work is inspired and informed by the Eloise's memoir, 'big beautiful female theory'.
bbft' is a feminist exploration, based on Eloise's personal experience, of how fat bodies have been idealised, fetishised and demonised, and the impact of this in a society obsessed with the narrow appearance ideal. Like the memoir the play is defiant, poignant, harsh and humorous.
The play reading (first draft) will be directed by Hallie Shellam and read by Taylor Griffiths, Devon Taylor and Joanne Davis.
Produced by Anvil Productions. Supported by Creative Victoria.
