The Challenge
Work as a project team to move through different project stages, tackle challenges, share resources and complete milestone checks.
But reaching the finish line isn't enough.
Your team must make sure all the required project work is completed, resources are managed effectively and key project decisions are made along the way to successfully deliver the project.
Throughout the challenge, you'll put practical project management skills into action — balancing competing priorities, responding to change and working together as a team to keep your project on track.

Project Management: Game On! is a gamified, interactive project management workshop where familiar board games are transformed into practical project management challenges.
You’ll play, make decisions, manage resources, tackle unexpected challenges and work together to deliver your project.
- Do I need project management experience?
Not at all! The workshop is designed to be accessible to beginners and anyone curious about project management.
Whether you're completely new to PM or already have some experience, you'll have opportunities to learn, practise and test your skills through the games.
- Is this a workshop or a board game session?
Both! Game On! combines short learning moments with hands-on gameplay. Instead of simply talking about project management, you'll experience concepts such as planning, resources, risk, change, decision-making and teamwork through play.
- Will I be playing individually or in a team?
You'll experience a mix of individual decision-making and team-based gameplay, depending on the challenge. Bring your strategy, communication skills and competitive spirit!
- Who is organising the event?
Project Management: Game On! is delivered by Empowerment PM Solutions, a professional development training partner focused on making project management practical, accessible and engaging.
The workshop is designed and facilitated by Haryanni Masarip, a project management professional, educator and facilitator with more than 19 years of project management experience across project engineering, PMO, governance, risk and sustainability leadership.
The event is co-organised by Team Odyssey, a capstone project team from the University of Sydney, bringing together an industry-based project management learning experience.
