Nature-hearted: Poetry of Plants with Snakebird Designs
Description
Poetry of Plants
Woven Nature Arrangements with Snakebird Designs
What meaning, beauty and metaphor is hiding in plain sight all around us?
Relax and play as we forage small natural treasures from around the Merri Merri (leaves, twigs, seed heads etc) pondering the teachings of each and arranging them within simple "looms" made with card and thread.
These beautiful, seasonal arrangements make for the sweetest gifts and artworks, or can be dismantled and rearranged to create new poetics of form.
Sarah Muir-Smith is a Naarm-based craftsperson and facilitator, exploring how local craft can be in service of the living world. She is currently studying for her masters of Regenerative Design at Central Saint Martins, working with local plants to create habitat augmentation structures for native fauna. She runs a range of workshops on human-nature connectedness through craft.
