Poetry Out Loud: Teacher Workshop
Description
The Massillon Museum invites high school teachers and interested arts organizations to a free, online workshop about the national Poetry Out Loud competition, and how hosting a competition at their school can boost student engagement and enrich learning experiences.
As the Ohio Arts Council’s Northeast Ohio* regional partner for Poetry Out Loud, the Massillon Museum will host the Poetry Out Loud Regional Semifinals on February 13, 2027. The State Finals, presented by the Ohio Arts Council, will be held at WOSU Public Media in Columbus on February 26, 2027.
*Counties in the Northeast Ohio region are: Ashland, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Wayne.
A partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies, Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country.
