Positive Duty: Changing the culture and eliminating discrimination
Event description
The Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission & Northern Institute present this panel discussion on new Positive Duty in the workplace.
Since December 2023, all organisations in Australia, regardless of size or resources, have a legal obligation under the Sex Discrimination Act to meet Positive Duty (Commonwealth). Positive duty shifts the focus to actively preventing workplace sexual harassment & discrimination rather than responding only after it occurs. Since January 2024, all Northern Territory businesses have additional positive duty obligations.
Come along for an insightful dialogue and hear from experts to understand the implications of Positive Duty and how it can change organisational culture and identity.
Don’t forget to provide a question ahead of time for the panel to discuss!
