A Multicultural Soirée

Poetry is a vessel that holds the essence of culture. It invites listeners in, quietly opening doors, setting the stage, harmonising voices, and making one feel at home.
Our multicultural poetry night returns with renewed power, guiding us through voices shaped by migration, memory, language, and resilience. This event weaves a vibrant tapestry of identities and lived experience, giving centre stage to powerful poetic expression from diverse communities.
This 2025 edition presents an evocative line-up of creatives, each bringing depth and texture to the evolving story of who we are and how we belong:
Jack Collard
Asha Rajan
Rashida Murphy
Andrew Sutherland
Marziya Mohammedali
Doreshawar Khan
Sher Ting Chim
Lidya Pawestri
Hosted by
Indrani Perera, a Sri Lankan/German/Australian poet based in Naarm (Melbourne), known for her narrative plainsong poetry and as the founder of Pocketry, the home of unheard voices.
This magical evening will touch on themes of migration, identity, language, heritage, cultural memory, and the universal longing for home.
