PubTalks: A Biomedical Science and Engineering Seminar Series
Event description
PubTalks is a social seminar series where we hear 4x 5-minute talks from volunteer HDRs and ECRs on their research within specific themes in a low-pressure environment, followed by question time, mingling, and free food. Events run 5:30pm - 7:30pm the last Thursday of each month.
Would you like to meet your peers from across the university and potentially find new collaborators?
Do you need to fulfill the PEM requirement for presenting your work outside of your research group?
Would you like to improve your public speaking skills in advance of Scientific Conferences?
Do you wish there was a stronger HDR research community while you complete your degree?
Then this is the perfect event for you! Come along and help us build a scientific community for HDRs, while creating cross-disciplinary collaborations and improving your presentation skills!
Our October event will celebrate upcoming researchers with Prospective HDR Student Month. Our amazing volunteers and their talk titles are below!
Charlotte Phan (Paul Austin): Structural changes in white matter in complex regional pain syndrome - an ultra-high MRI study
Rayna Lamack (Daria Anderson): Spatiotemporal dynamics of status epilepticus onset in a mouse model of temporal lobe epilepsy
Henry Blackwell (Collin Anderson): OpenStride - making rodent behavioural and motor studies more accessible
Emma Cherry (Enovis / ESIPS): Predicting Hip Range of Motion during Activities of Daily Living
Ava Mason (Paul Austin): How does autoimmunity contribute to chronic pain in complex regional pain syndrome?
Please come along and support these wonderful researchers as they tell us about their work.
