PubTalks: A Biomedical Science and Engineering Seminar Series
Event description
PubTalks is a social seminar series where we hear 4x 5-minute talks from volunteer HDRs and ECRs on their research within specific themes in a low-pressure environment, followed by question time, mingling, and free food. Events run 5pm - 7pm the fourth Thursday of each month.
Would you like to meet your peers from across the university and potentially find new collaborators?
Do you need to fulfill the PEM requirement for presenting your work outside of your research group?
Would you like to improve your public speaking skills in advance of Scientific Conferences?
Do you wish there was a stronger HDR research community while you complete your degree?
Then this is the perfect event for you! Come along and help us build a scientific community for HDRs, while creating cross-disciplinary collaborations and improving your presentation skills!
Our May event will explore Biomaterials and Biomechanics as a theme. Speakers include:
- Chhiti Pandey - Injectable Hydrogel for Ocular Applications
- Frank Fei - The Bermuda Triangle of Biomaterials: Inducing Porosity in Injectable Bone Cements
- Oscar Stelzer-Hiller - Tackling Concussions in Rugby League: Effectiveness of an Empirically-Based Technique Intervention to Reduce In-Game Concussion Risk
- Henry Lim - Calcium Imparts Advanced Functionalities to Silk Hydrogels for Biofabrication and Biomedical Innovation
