PUPPET POWER 2025

October 18-19, 2025

INSPIRE • INFORM • GALVANIZE

Puppet Power 2025 explores immigration through the transformative lens of puppetry arts — shedding light on the personal journeys, struggles, and triumphs of those who cross borders seeking a new home.

Join us for an inspiring two-day hybrid event featuring:

Saturday:

  • Four (4) live-streamed watch parties with an engaging host

  • Three (3) mini puppet making activities

  • Saturday evening dinner and ‘ceilidh’ featuring professional puppet performances and screenings

  • Fun filled reception with puppet making, games, snacks and silent auction.

Sunday:

  • Choose from two (2) hands-on puppet making workshops OR one (1) live streamed watch party.

  • Everyone is welcome to join a short UNIMA - International streamed presentation about work of the Applied Puppetry commission.

  • Choose in-person Rapid Ideation showcasing puppet ideas for Calgary social agencies working with immigrants OR a live streamed watch party.

Full Registration also includes post conference recordings, on-demand resources, donation to UNIMA’s Strings of Support and three (3) catered meals.

Component parts of the event and post conference recording package are also available for purchase.

This 13th edition of WP Puppet Theatre’s signature festival is a call to action — perfect for educators, social workers, students, and helping professionals looking to use puppetry in meaningful ways.

With Calgary hospitality, this event fosters creativity, connection, and well-being—showing how puppetry can be a bridge to understanding and empathy.
